In the series, Lessons of the Bark Beetle, I interrogate the shape of life and its existence, reduced as a negative “footprint”, embedded in the structure and material presence of wood. The evidence is in the trace.  The reciprocity of life forms, animal and vegetable, give us a pattern to live by-- recording, making, changing the form of things.  But this symbiotic relationship is “slippery”, a threshold between worlds.  The meandered line sits in the liminal space. These trace screenprints reveal the indexical relationship of the drawn mark and its trace, recorded on a paper surface as a liminal presence.
