Workshops

This is The Rusty Barn Studio in Santa Barbara, California where I taught for a three day intensive about the Combination Print. Seven printmakers joined me for the three days and they produced some wonderful prints. It was a wonderful opportunity to work with experienced printmakers and to have a great studio to work in. I have been invited back again next year!

Combination Print Intensive -- July 12 - 16
ITHACA COLLEGE
I am teaching Introduction to Printmaking: Relief/Intaglio at Ithaca College as an adjunct professor in the art department, Spring 2010 and Fall 2010.
Printmakers of Cape Cod invited me to teach the Combination Print workshop this past July at Cape Cod Community College. This full three day workshop was fantastic. Leslie Kramer hosted me at her house and the whole experience was wonderful. I was honored to teach this group of experienced printmakers in a well-equipped studio. We created some great prints. Thanks to all who helped make this event such a success.

I teach a number of workshops to people of all ages and backgrounds. I have taught elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as college and university students, beginners to professionals. I have been guest artist/speaker at SUNY Brockport, Elmira College, Cornell University, Alfred University, and Russell Sage Colleges.

My teaching approach: Good instruction in the visual arts is key to having an educated public who appreciates fine art. I believe teaching is most rewarding and successful when the instructor can convey excitement with the process, the necessary skills to accomplish the task of producing the image, and then finally supporting the student’s ability to assess the results.
